Brock University launches advanced cider courses
At Fielding Estate Winery, in Beamsville, president Curtis Fielding said that they produced triple the amount when launching their second batch of cider. Their first batch was sold out for a month last summer.
“I’ve always loved cider,” said Fielding, and after years of speaking with Mountainview Orchards’ owner Peter Feenstra, the two finally teamed up to create cider made with 100 per cent Ontario apples.
“I just find it a good alternative to beer and (it’s) different than wine … we’re very proud of it.”
Offering cider has actually helped to boost wine sales at the winery, said Fielding.
